The past month hasn’t been kind to trainer Chris So Wai-yin, but he has had some encouraging performances from his team and Prince Harmony turned in one of them on Monday.

So has a losing streak of 45 racked up since Fairy Twins won at Happy Valley on December 6, and Prince Harmony’s second to Infinity Endeavour was another frustrating minor placing.

Monday’s racing was characterised by some jockeys thinking the winning post was down by the quarantine stables, with a race to the home turn in several races.

One such instance was the Infinity Endeavour race, where Prince Harmony rolled through to lead on the rail then found himself in a line of three with All Great Friends and California Fortune.

This made it a race for horses running on, and Infinity Endeavour came from midfield and third-home Affluence Start from even further back.

Splitting them was a very solid effort from Prince Harmony, especially considering he had not raced for six months, so he is going to fine-tune in fitness and hopefully find a race somewhere in which he gets more peace.

Last campaign, Prince Harmony won three in a row at Happy Valley but this showed he has no problem producing his best at Sha Tin and So should be able to find a race for him soon.

Another horse with little recent racing who caught the eye at this meeting was Top Score, a running-on fourth to rising star Conte in the eighth race.

Top Score has always looked to have his share of ability but has also had a few physical issues, the most recent a double bout of tendinitis in both his forelegs in February last year. That kept him off the scene until November and Top Score failed there but showed the benefit of the run and his subsequent training when he worked home well on Monday in a race that promises to be a source of some good form.

Top Score is capable in Class Three but the handicapper dropped him another two points on Tuesday and he is getting close to Class Four, where he should be very tough to beat.
