The “Fixer Upper” stars announced in an Instagram Tuesday that they will be expecting a fifth child together.
Chip Gaines posted that there will now be a "Gaines party of seven." The couple currently have four children; Drake (12), Ella Rose (11), Duke (9), and Emmie Kay (7).
The Gaineses will welcome their new child in what’s shaping up to be a big year for the family. The couple has a number of products coming out and they’re set to publish another book. At the same time, the “Fixer Upper” television show will be ending after its fifth season.
Joanna Gaines said the couple isn’t ending the show because she’s pregnant, according to Entertainment Tonight.
"There's so many (rumors), even leading up to it — I had this skincare line, so I'm leaving. It made it look like I was doing my own thing and Chip didn't even know about it. That was just a big rumor," Joanna told ET's Kevin Frazier. "That our marriage is on the rocks … I was pregnant. It's funny when you start hearing this stuff. I was like, 'I guess people can just make stuff up.'"
The Gaineses have often spoken about the importance of family, according to People magazine.
People collected many of the couples’ top quotes on family to celebrate the Gaineses’ announcement.
“I feel a little bit like a drill sergeant sometimes. Some elements of my personality, as a parent, I’m not real crazy about,” Chip Gaines told People. “I grew up in an environment that was pretty much ‘back by dark’ — (my parents) didn’t generally know what we were doing, and it was all good, clean fun. So I thought, ‘Oh, I’m gonna be a wild parent.’”
