Tottenham Hotspur play their rescheduled New Year’s Eve game with London rivals West Ham United on Thursday night, hoping fatigue won’t strike in what is their second game in three days.
Spurs will be hoping to close the gap on fourth-place Liverpool FC, whom they are currently four points behind in the Premier League table, while West Ham, who are themselves experiencing a mini-renaissance under David Moyes, can move up to 12th with a win.

Half-time - Spurs 0-0 West Ham
Great save!
Christian Eriksen plays a clever one-two with Dele Alli before drilling a shot towards goal from the edge of the area. The Dane is denied though as Adrian dives to his left to tip the ball over the crossbar.
It's not been a half of football that will live long in the memory.
40' - It's fair to say that this match is some way off matching the quality we saw in last night's London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea.
Having said that, all four goals came in the final half-an-hour at the Emirates so we could yet be in for a treat after the interval here.
Jan Vertonghen is challenged by Javier Hernandez
34' - Jan Vertonghen's magnificent diagonal ball is headed straight across the face of the West Ham goal to Harry Kane, whose poor first touch puts the ball out of play for a goal-kick.
The Spurs striker might've been better taking the shot on first time.
30' - Christian Eriksen plays a one-two with Harry Kane on the edge of the box before skidding a shot just wide of Adrian's far post.
Spurs have just upped the tempo in the last few minutes.
Manuel Lanzini of West Ham chases the ball
28' - Harry Kane tests Adrian with a curling shot from distance but the Spaniard gets down well to his left to parry the ball away from danger.
24' - Tottenham concede possession sloppily deep inside their own half and that allows Javier Hernandez a run at their goal. The Mexican is forced wide though and his cutback doesn't find a West Ham shirt.
We're yet to have a clear-cut chance for either team here.
21' - Ben Davies whips a superb cross into the penalty area for Spurs but Harry Kane is nowhere to be seen and the attack fizzles out.
Harry Kane shoots at goal
16' - Serge Aurier picks Harry Kane out in the West Ham penalty area but the striker is quickly crowded out and his shot from just outside the six-yard box is blocked.
Moments later Spurs have the ball in the back of the net but the offside flag is up against Harry Kane, whose shot had just been deflected past Adrian by Winston Reid.
12' - Angelo Ogbonna's long pass almost finds Manuel Lanzini in behind the West Ham defence but the ball has just a little too much on it and it rolls through to Hugo Lloris.
10' - It's been a fairly slow start to the match here. Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez has had the game's best chance so far but his shot after Adrian had flapped at a corner was blocked.
David Moyes looks on from the dugout
4' - Son Heung-min's low cross deflects into the path of Harry Kane, who attempts to hook a shot beyond Adrian from a tight angle. However, his effort ends up being more of a cross into Dele Alli than a shot and Declan Rice is forced to turn the ball behind for a corner.
1' - We are underway at the national stadium!
We're just five minutes from kick-off at Wembley, where Spurs are looking to make it four wins from four over the festive period - something no other Premier League team has done this season.
Can they do it? Stay tuned to find out!
Pre-match quotes from Mauricio Pochettino
On making three changes to the team that beat Swansea two days ago: "It's important tonight to give the team fresh legs and keep momentum. It's an important game for us to keep fighting for the top four. I think the three points are massive for us and, of course, for them."
On Harry Kane returning to the starting line-up after illness: "It's true that we needed to give him a good rest because he was unwell. I hope that today he is fully recovered and can play 90 minutes or nearly all of the game."

Alex Sandro interest
Both Manchester United and Chelsea could be left disappointed in the January transfer window over their pursuit of Juventus' Alex Sandro, the Independent reports. Harry Kane. The Englishman has been suffering from illness and didn’t start Tuesday’s game with Swansea but such is his desire to play that he came off the bench for a late cameo. He should start tonight however and he is odds on to find the back of the net.
