Tony Blair, 64, was Prime Minister of the UK from May 2 1997 to June 27 2007.
He is the most recent British Labour Party leader to have won a general election, and the British politician has certainly made his mark during and after his time in office.
Blair became Prime Minister at the age of 43 after the Labour Party won a landslide general election victory in May 1997. This made him the youngest Prime Minister since 1812.
The Labour Party went on to win two more general elections under his leadership, but he now runs a consultancy business.

He was made Leader of the Labour Party on July 21 1994 after the sudden death of his predecessor, John Smith, and under his leadership, the party formed the term ‘New Labour’, which helped distance the party from previous Labour policies.
During his first term as Prime Minister, Blair and his government oversaw a large increase in public spending, and the party introduced the National Minimum Wage Act, Human Rights Act and Freedom of Information Act.
After being succeeded as Leader of the Labour Party and as Prime Minister by Gordon Brown, he was appointed the official Special Envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East - a position which he held until May 2015.

He now runs a consultancy business and has set up various foundations in his own name, including the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.
Early last year, Blair made apparent his return to politics as he joined in with the Brexit debate.
The former Prime Minister spoke of his ambitions to soften Brexit and “shape policy debate”.
He told The Mirror: “The Brexit thing has given me a direct motivation to get more involved in the politics.
