Mrs. Mildred Whimper, 90, of Pine Bluff passed on December 28, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alberta and Owen Carter, her husband, Hosie Whimper, Jr., four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Whimper Massey of Pine Bluff, Beverly Whimper Green of Sherwood, Ark.; her son Carl Whimper of Pine Bluff and a step-son Isaac Whimper of White Hall, Ark.; Four grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will from 5-6:30 p.m., January 4, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., January 5, 2018 at Old Saint James Baptist Church with Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Her body will lie in-state Friday, 10:15 a.m., until service.

Flarrie Wheeler-Willis

REDFIELD - Flarrie Estelle “Flo” Wheeler-Willis, 99, of Redfield, Ark. went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born on November 14, 1918 in Ashley Co., Ark. to Garner A. and Mary C. Davis Wheeler.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Willis; brothers, Gus and Edison Wheeler; sisters, Irene Grettenberg and Mary Lewis; infant son, Daniel B. Boone; infant daughter, Francis K. Boone; granddaughter, Victoria Martin; great-grandson, Kyle Lydick and 3 son-in-law’s, Bruce Bailey, Bob Davies, and Billy Brantley.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy Brantley of Redfield, Janette Davies, Joanne Kelley (Carl), and Virginia Bailey all of Calif; one brother, Ted Wheeler of Benton; 11 grand children; 20 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the chapel of Cranford Funeral Home, White Hall, Ark. with Bro. Gene Murdock officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10am. Interment will be at Union Ridge Cemetery in Monticello, Ark. Alla Abram

KANSAS CITY, KAN. - Mrs. Alla B. (Hence) Abram, 84 of Kansas City, Kan. was born on March 18, 1933, to Arthur Hence, Sr. and Hattie Thompson. She was the 4th child and only girl of that union.

Alla graduated from Merrill High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas AM&N College in 1954 and a Master's degree in Science Education from Tuskegee Institute in 1961.

She moved to Kansas City, Kan. where she met & married Gary Abrams.

In 1972, she began her teaching career in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. She taught Math & Computer science. She enhanced her education by receiving a second Master's degree from Webster University, in St. Louis, Missouri. After 30 years of teaching, Alla retired from the Kansas City, Missouri School District.

Mrs. Alla was a member of 8th Street Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan. for over 20 years. She served as group captain and instructor for the Usher Ministry and was a member of the Mission Ministry.

She was a member of the American Contract Bridge League, Heart of America Sisterhood, and the Valedas Club.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband (divorced) and three brothers. Survivors include, three sisters, Debra E Banks, Pine Bluff, Ark., Verdia M Hence, Little Rock, Ark., Brenda H Mixon (George), Lakeland, Tenn.; two brothers, Curry A Hence (Betty), Denver, Colo., Benjamin F Hence, Pine Bluff, Ark.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service: 2 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, Brown's Funeral Home, Pine Bluff, Ark.

Internment following service: Mount Olive Cemetery, Princeton Pike, Whitehall, Ark.
