AL to celebrate 'Victory Day for Democracy' tomorrow

The ruling Awami League will celebrate 'Victory Day for Democracy' as well as the fourth anniversary of the 10th national election on Friday through elaborate programmes.
On this day in 2014, Awami League (AL) won country's 10th national elections for the second consecutive time. its arch rival Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) boycotted the polls and resorted to countrywide violence.
As part of the central proggramme, the AL will bring out colourful processions and hold rallies at all districts, metropolitan cities and upazila headquarters, a press release said on Wednesday.
 Two processions will be brought out in the capital -- one from Banani ground organized by Dhaka North City Awami League and the other from the party's headquarters at Bangabandhu Avenue organized by Dhaka South City Awami League. Two rallies will also be held following the processions.
