NARAYANGANJ: A grandmother and her grandson were allegedly strangled to death in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj on Thursday morning (January 4).
The deceased were identified as Parvin Akhter, 50 and her grandson Mehedi, 9, son of one Nabi Abul.
Police recovered the bodies from a house in Mijmiji Kandapar area of Siddhirganj around 11:00am and also detained Mehedi’s father Nabi Abul for questioning.
Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police Sarfuddin told Banglanews that deceased Parvin’s husband first informed police that they were murdered. However, from the decaying condition of the bodies suggests that they were strangled to death 6-7 days ago.
The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
