Paris transport authority RATP has admitted that extending LTE coverage to the capital's entire metro system will take longer than expected. Initially planned for 2015, the completion of the work was rescheduled to 2017, but it has now been postponed to the end of 2019. In its statement, the authority confirmed that a third of metro stations are already covered by LTE services (120 out of 365 overall) and said that the technical complexity of the deployment, coupled with the metro’s restrictive environment, has slowed down the project.
