Princeville 53, Wethersfield 48
PRINCEVILLE –– The Princes’ Lucy Waid turned in a huge second half, as Princeville rallied from a halftime deficit to top the Lady Geese.
After being held scoreless in the opening half, Waid exploded for 20 second half points – including 14-15 from the free throw line.
Wethersfield led 6-3 midway through the opening period, before the Princes finished the quarter on an 8-2 run to take an 11-8 lead after one.
The Lady Geese heated up offensively in the second quarter. Tori Rashid and Brittney Litton combined to score 15 in the quarter – as Wethersfield outscored Princeville 19-10 – and led 27-21 at halftime.
The Princes outscored the Geese 17-5 in the third, led by Waid’s 11 points. Lexi Nichols scored all five Geese points in the period.
In the final quarter, Wethersfield drew even at 43 on a Litton trey, and 46 on a Rashid trey.
A Ward layup and a pair of free throws iced the game in the final minute for Princeville.
Rashid and Nichols each scored 14 for Wethersfield. Litton hit three treys and added 13.
Princeville moves to 16-2 on the year; Wethersfield drops to 12-6.
Annawan 77, Stark County 39
ANNAWAN –– On a banner raising night at Annawan High School, the Bravettes hammered Stark County and improved to 17-0 on the season and 3-0 in the LTC.
The Bravettes jumped out to a 41-14 lead at the half, as they cruised to the conference win.
Jayde VanHyfte tossed in 23 points to lead the Bravettes. Kaley Jackson chipped in with 16.
Kylee Lindley led Stark County with a dozen points. Abby Stotler added 10.
Mercer County 44, Galva 35
ALEDO –– Mercer County outscored Galva 28-17 in the second half to top the Lady Cats.
Darrah Schilling led Galva with 12 points.
Karli Stineman had 10 to lead Mercer County.
