Market Now: BSE Midcap underperforms Sensex; RCom, GMR Infra weigh
The NSE Nifty50 index was 31 points up at 10,474 around 12.15 pm.
NEW DELHI: The BSE Midcap index was trading marginally behind the benchmark Sensex in Thursday's trade.

The S&P BSE Midcap index was trading 82 points up at 17,901, while the benchmark Sensex was 94 points up at 33,887 around 12.15 pm (IST). The NSE Nifty50 index was 31 points up at 10,474.

Shares of SJVN (up 12.17 per cent), IDBI Bank (up 9.08 per cent), Indian Hotels Company (up 5.48 per cent), Bank of India (up 4.25 per cent), Adani Enterprises (up 3.60 per cent), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (up 3.54 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (up 3.34 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 3.14 per cent) and Canara Bank (up 3.07 per cent) were among the top gainers in the midcap index.

On the contrary, shares of Reliance Communications (down 5.73 per cent), GMR Infrastructure (down 2.75 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.73 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 1.22 per cent) and Tata Power Company (down 1.19 per cent) were trading as the losers of the BSE Midcap index.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Tata Steel, Dr Reddy's, Coal India, Larsen & Toubro and State Bank of India were trading among the top gainers in the Sensex index.

However, Sun Pharma, Wipro, Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp were trading among the losers in the Sensex kitty of stocks.
