Elle’s sizzling bikini body at 53

ELLE Macpherson showed exactly why she's nicknamed 'The Body' as she hit the beach in a bikini.

The Australian supermodel, 53, showed off her famously long legs as she splashed around in the sea in the Bahamas.

With her long hair loose down her shoulders, the model listened to music on her iPod and clutched a bottle of water as she enjoyed a solo stroll.

But despite the relaxing break, Elle isn't letting up on her fitness routine, sharing an Instagram of mini weights and yoga stretching straps.

She wrote alongside the snap: "Let's do this island style. @yogatambahamas."

Last year Elle's personal trainer Nicola Addison gave an insight into Elle's fitness regimen and it is certainly paying dividends.

Squatting, planking and walking are all must-dos, while Nicola encouraged people not to shun carbohydrates.

"It is a myth that eating carbohydrates after 4pm makes you fat. Eating excess calories makes you fat!" she said.

"Try and space four hours between breakfast and lunch and six hours between lunch and your evening meals making protein the base of all meals."

Elle is known for her record five cover appearances for the famous Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Following her successful modelling career, the mum-of-two went on to found a lingerie line and a range of skincare products.

Meanwhile Elle split from her billionaire husband Jeff Soffer last June. Elle was previously married to Gilles Bensimon.

Elle has two teenage sons, Flynn and Aurelius Cy from her previous relationship with hedge funder Arpad Busson.
