Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said that he was happy about the decision taken by the government to conduct a forensic audit on alleged bond scams under the UPFA government from 2008 to 2015.

Rajapaksa said “I trust my officers and I am of the belief that no such thing ever happened.” He said not only the whole country but also the entire world knew who the real culprits were.

“We have no objection to the purported investigation to be conducted by the government into alleged bond scams under our government,” the former President said, adding that nobody would try to run away in such an eventuality.
