Vice President Mike Pence attended the dignified transfer ceremony of Sgt. 1st class Mihail Golin who was killed in Afghanistan Monday.
Mihail Golin a 34-year-old Latvian immigrant from Fort Lee, N.J. was killed by enemy fire in Achin, Nangarhar Province during a patrol, The Defense Department said Wednesday. Golin was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colo.

Four other U.S. service members were injured in the attack. Two were treated and said to be in stable condition on Tuesday, and the two others returned to duty.
