St. Mary’s Nativity Church: Robert and Patsy Babinwill received the Traveling Chalice at the 4 p.m. Mass Jan. 7. They will keep the chalice for a week and pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, deaconate and religious life, especially among the young people of our parish and diocese. Anyone wishing to receive the chalice can contact Ronnie Danos at 537-7806.
Sympathy: In the charity of your prayer, please remember Douglas J. Berdou, Norman C. Borne and Cody C. Pierce who have entered eternal rest. Please keep their family members in prayer that they find comfort and consolation in their faith.
Cook-off: St. Mary’s Nativity Church is hosting its third annual cook-off on Jan. 20. We will have different categories: Gumbo, Jambalaya, Sauce Piquant, Chili, Cracklins, etc. For information or to register your team, contact St. Mary’s Nativity Church at 537-3204. The deadline to register your team is Jan. 12.
Country store donations: We are having a country store for the cook-off. If anyone has handmade or homemade items to donate to the country store, please bring them to the church office by noon Jan. 19. If you need the items picked up, please call the church office at 537-3204 and make arrangements to have them picked up.
Ministers needed: Please, with prayerful consideration, join our Ministers Group. We are in need of commentators, extra-ordinary ministers of Holy Communion and lectors. We need help at all Masses. If interested, please contact Carol in the Administration Office at 537-3204. We will have a training meeting for all ministers (old and new) on at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 in the church.
Brick sale: As a way to help bring beauty to our grounds and help with our debt, we have made a brick prayer area in front of the church office. We are selling memorial bricks.
