Riverdale season 2: Betty Cooper in for a big surprise as boss drops TERRIFYING spoiler
THE mid-season finale of Riverdale may have ended with the Black Hood killer being caught by Betty Cooper and Archie Andrews but now the series’ boss has hinted that the reveal may have been a red herring.
Ahead of the show’s return on January 18 on Netflix, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has shared a snap of Betty (Lili Reinhart) worried as she looks up at the ceiling.
He captioned the snap: “If the Black Hood is dead, then who the hell is upstairs? HINT: It ain’t Chic. 15 days to a new ep of #Riverdale.”
Fans of the teen drama are aware that Betty’s brother Chic (Hart Denton) is expected to arrive in town this series but are being kept in the dark as to when he’ll make an appearance.
Now viewers of the series have been sent into a frenzy as they work out who is waiting for Betty.

It comes after actress Lili revealed that the second half of the series will focus more on Betty’s mental health when Chic arrives.
“When Betty digs her nails into her hands, it’s kind of when things are happening with her family,” she told Glamour magazine.

“That’s her trigger, whether it be her mother, her brother or Polly. I think that’s something to keep in mind.”
She added that the high-school cheerleader is keen to find out if Chic shares the same struggles as she does.
“She’s very curious to see if he has that darkness inside him as well,” she confessed. “There might be some sister/brother bonding over mental health issues.”
Riverdale season 2 continues January 18 on Netflix.
