I WAS intrigued by your article on the Co-op ("Co-op plan for major expansion in 2018", The Herald, January 2) as, for the first time in 70 years, I have no access to a Co-op. All three in my area were sold to competitors. Since none of the three was loss-making I presume that the Co-op had sold out on its community angle and gone over to the maximum profit angle.
According to the answer to my letter of complaint more than 400 branches were closing due to re-structuring. So your piece leaves me bamboozled.
