Delaware Friends of Folk, a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the cause of folk music and folk musicians in the area, will hold two concerts and a pick-in during January.
The nonprofit will host a concert by Sol Knopf at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at The Old State House, 25 The Green, Dover, in collaboration with First State Heritage Park and funded by Kent County Fund for the Arts. The concert is free and open.
A concert by Charlie Zahm, with fiddler Tad Marks, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Hope United Methodist Church, 3 N. Bradford St., Dover. The concert will be opened by Dover duo Steffi and Tim. Tickets are $7 for Delaware Friends of Folk members and $10 general admission, while those 12 and younger are admitted free.
The friends also host a pick-in acoustic jam session on the second Saturday of each month. This month’s session will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 13 at Blue Earl Brewery, 210 Artisan Drive, Smyrna. All skill levels are welcome.
