(MENAFN) Two jets killed at least 20 civilians and injured dozens on Thursday due to dropping bombs on two inhabited buildings in a besieged rebel area east of Damascus, residents and a war monitor stated.

They also added that four bombs crushed the two buildings in the town of Misraba, wounding more than 40 people, while at least ten people were killed in in-flight strikes in nearby towns in the last rebel stronghold near the capital.

11 women and a child were among the dead in the strike in Misraba according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
