Sherman Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Sherman man after he allegedly violated a custody order and fled to Florida with his young daughter.
In an emailed statement, the department announced that Nathanial Raymond James, 40, is wanted on a charge of interference with child custody. The warrant was issued on Dec. 12.
“James was last seen with his 4-year-old daughter, Sandiya Nicole James, in Sherman Texas on November 4, 2017 and has not been in contact since,” the email read. “James is believed to have absconded from Sherman to Florida with his daughter in violation of court custody orders.”
Sgt. Brett Mullen said in a text message that the department had no reason to believe the child was in immediate danger.
According to the email, James was previously stationed at the Patrick Air Force Base in Brevard County, Florida. However the department said James may have left the base and may currently be staying with family or friends in Hillsborough County, Florida.
Those with information regarding James’ whereabouts are asked to call Detective Withrow at 903-892-7322 or the Sherman Police Department at 903-892-7290.
