In Cape Cod, three thresher sharks were found frozen by the 'Atlantic White Shark Conservancy' due to bitterly cold temperatures.

The organization said that the sharks were too frozen to even perform an autopsy. It further added that these dead sharks would have suffered from "cold shock" in the surrounding water.

Regarding this, tissue samples from the sharks have been collected by the conservancy that will be examined "once they thaw."

"We hauled the shark off the beach and it is currently thawing at NOAA Fisheries Service to be dissected later," the conservancy group wrote on Facebook about the latest shark discovery. In its official Facebook post, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy also shared some images of a pair of thresher sharks that were stranded on shore and froze, due to the cold weather.

Not only sharks, turtles in the North of the country are also freezing to death because of sub-zero temperatures.

On the other hand, around a dozen sea turtles off the coast of Galverston Island were rescued yesterday by The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), that were in cold-shock.

"All 18 turtles were brought in for rehabilitation, where their body temperature was slowly increased prior to placement into water," the sea turtle hospital staff from the NOAA reported.
