Forecasts show temperatures dipping to as low as 21 degrees Thursday night, with a wind chill making the feels-like temperature around 13 degrees.
A hard-freeze warning is in effect for Gainesville again Thursday night.
Nate McGinnis, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, said the warning runs from 8 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday morning.
Forecasts show temperatures dipping to as low as 21 degrees Thursday night, with a wind chill making the feels-like temperature around 13 degrees overnight and into Friday morning.
Friday night and Saturday’s lows will dip to around 26 and warm up to around the mid-40s during the day.
Saturday night will again dip into freezing temperatures in the 30s, and Sunday should start bringing warmer temperatures, with a high of around 61 and low of 47.
There is "no rain, just sunshine," forecast for the rest of the week, McGinnis said, with a small chance of rain returning Monday when another low-pressure system makes its way into the area.
McGinnis said a lack of moisture in the air has allowed for northwest winds to bring down cool air into the area.
