Oman- Gulf Cup: Hopes high, spirits unbeatable as fans get ready to cheer for their favourite team

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Red Warriors' entry into the final of Gulf Cup on Tuesday has become the talk of the country. Understandably so, every nook and corner is splashed with the colours of the flag, displaying hopes of the millions who wish to see their country lift the cup.

The excitement and hope is rising in fans who said the chances are still high for Oman despite losing to UAE in the opening match.

Former national player, Imad al Hosni said Friday's game will be a difficult one. 'There is a possibility that the game will reach a penalty shoot-out. God willing, Oman will lift the cup. Hopes are high as Oman has fought hard till now.' Some believe this is the perfect opportunity for Oman to avenge the earlier defeat.

'Oman has played so well in this Gulf Cup. There is a very big chance that Oman will win because our team knows it is a do-or-die situation. I think the team will beat UAE 1-0,' said Haidar Mohammed al Lawati, an ardent fan. Ahmad al Kaf, an Omani international football referee, believes the cup will be won by Oman.

'Oman's team has restored its fans' confidence by reaching the final. The players' determination could be seen in each of their games. They will surely emerge victorious if they follow the coach's instructions,' he said. Former national team captain Suhail al Rashidi said the match will not be easy. 'Only a physically and mentally strong team will win. And the Omani team has displayed its mettle.' Fans planning to travel to Kuwait are confident of their team's win.

'I am trying to get free tickets for ten of us,' said Masoud Nizar. Details regarding flights organised by the Omani Football Association are still awaited. These flights will be operated under the sponsorship of the Royal Air Force of Oman, Ministry of Sports Affairs and Majlis A'Shura.

Low-cost flights to Kuwait Both Oman Air and SalamAir will be operating low-cost flights to Kuwait on Friday, the airlines tweeted. SalamAir announced that it will operate eight flights to Kuwait. Of these, eight will be from Muscat and one from Salalah. Oman Air will operate nine flights to Kuwait at RO16 per seat. Of this one flight will be from Muscat and eight from Salalah. 'That's 1,790 seats to cheer your team at the Gulf Cup finals,' the tweet read.
