BAGAN SERAI: A trader has claimed that he was accused of masterminding a digital currency scam on social media after his Facebook account was hacked by unknown individuals.
Nor Hisham Othman, 47, said he only realised about the matter after his personal email could not be accessed on Dec 14 and that his smartphone was unserviceable three days later.
"I sent the smartphone for repair. After collecting the phone a week later, I checked my Facebook account under the name of 'Nor Hisham Othman'.
"I was shocked that there were individuals posting on my account and accused me of cheating digital currency transaction using the same account," he told reporters here, yesterday.
Nor Hisham said he had proof that his Facebook account was hacked, and lodged a police report on Dec 25 as he feared for his safety.
