THE 1990s is the decade we most long for.

Music was better with bands such as the Spice Girls and Oasis, say 80% of adults.

And 36% said fashions of the 1990s was tops, with high-waisted jeans, boob tubes and platform trainers all the rage.

Of the 2,000 people polled, a total of 33% said the top movies of the decade – Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, Fargo, The Usual Suspects, Goodfellas and The Shawshank Redemption – were among the best ever.

The research ties in with Mecca Bingo’s Meccarena campaign, featuring a bingo version of the 90s one-hit wonder, the Macarena.

Caroline Webb, of Mecca Bingo, said: “The 90s was a defining era for music, fashion and film, so it’s no surprise it’s the nation’s favourite decade.

"Most of us can relate to the days of double denim and wearing chocker necklaces.

The Spice Girls, Scary Spice Mel B, Baby Spice Emma Bunton, and Ginger Spice Geri Horner have announced a reunion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their single Wannabe. Posh Spice Victoria Beckham and Sporty Spice Mel C unfortunately won't be joining them.
