Crop comments: Lake Catholic easily remains at No. 1. The Cougars host the Jimmy Cook/Steve Galeazzo Duals this weekend, so we’ll see them as a dual team for the first time this year. ... Mentor stays at No. 2. The Cardinals wrestled well at Brecksville and could be a high placer at Perry’s Pin City this weekend. ... Mayfield remains at No. 3 primarily because of its 40-28 win over Kenston. No Tommy Ungrady yet, but this team looks pretty strong. ... Riverside finished second at the Kenston Invitational, so it makes a big jump from No. 7 to No. 4. Alex Farenchak is the area’s last undefeated wrestler. ... Chardon jumps to No. 5 from No. 8 after a fourth-place finish at the KIT. Jake Hamulak, Ethan Ducca and Sam Eldridge have been steady leaders this year. ... Geneva is young, but still finished eighth in the KIT. The Eagles move from No. 7 to No. 9. ... Madison was 16th in the KIT, so it drops down to No. 8, a smidgen ahead of rival Perry. Both Perry and Madison are at the Pin City tournament this weekend, so this should present an interesting head-to-head. ... University jumps into the Crop this week. Coach Sean Grosz’s team has some nice headliners in Sean O’Dwyer, Joe Averill and Paul Averill.
