WGA Awards: 'Get Out,' 'Logan,' 'The Big Sick' Among Film Nominations
The guild also revealed its documentary screenplay nominations.
The Writers Guild on Thursday revealed its nominations for its 2018 theatrical and documentary screenplay awards.
The following films are nominated for best original screenplay: The Big Sick, Get Out, I, Tonya, Lady Bird and The Shape of Water. Adapted screenplay nominations are Call Me by Your Name, The Disaster Artist, Logan, Molly's Game, Mudbound.
The Logan nomination comes after the well-received Hugh Jackman-starrer failed to land a Golden Globe or Screen Actors Guild award nomination but has been recognized by various critics organizations and nabbed three Critics' Choice award nominations.
The rest of the nominees are all considered contenders for Oscar nominations for best original and adapted screenplay. Still, not all of the films eligible for Oscar nominations were eligible for Writers Guild awards.
The WGA's documentary nominees are Betting on Zero, Jane, No Stone Unturned and Oklahoma City.
The awards -- along with trophies in other categories, including TV and digital media -- will be handed out on Feb. 11, 2018 via simultaneous ceremonies in New York and L.A.
Late Night With Seth Meyers writer and contributor Amber Ruffin will host the New York show while Patton Oswalt will host the L.A. event.
A full list of this year's feature and doc screenplay nominations follows.
