UAFS will look to extend its winning streak today when the Lady Lions resume Heartland Conference play against the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles at the Eagles Nest in Oklahoma City.

Tipoff will be 5:30 p.m. Live statistics and live stream will be available, and the game will be broadcast on KHGG-AM 1580 and KHGG-FM 101.1.

The Lady Lions have won two games in a row and are coming off an 83-77 nonconference win against the Ouachita Baptist Lady Tigers on Saturday at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia, Ark.

UAFS (8-6, 1-1) is one of three teams with a 0.500 conference record. UAFS, St. Edward’s (7-7, 1-1) and St. Mary’s (7-8, 1-1) trail conference co-leaders No. 4 Lubbock Christian (12-1, 1-0) and Newman (10-5, 2-0) by one game.

The Lady Lions average 70 points per game with two players averaging double-figures in scoring — senior forward Tayla Taylor (12.1) and sophomore guard Micayla Haynes (10). Junior guard Lundon Williams leads the team in assists per game (3.9).

UAFS out-rebounds its opponents by more than one rebound per game (36.4-35.1). Taylor leads the team in rebounds per game (9.3).

Oklahoma Christian (4-9, 0-1) lost its conference opener 91-76 to Newman at home on Dec. 2, but the Lady Eagles have won two games in a row and are coming off wins against No. 24/19 Seattle Pacific (75-70) and Saint Martin’s (87-72) on Dec. 18-19 at Marcus Pavilion in Lacey, Wash.

It will be the first game in more than two weeks for the Lady Eagles, who are tied for sixth in the conference with Rogers State (4-8, 0-1) and Texas A&M International (2-13, 0-1).

Oklahoma Christian averages 79 points per game with one player averaging double-figures in scoring — junior guard Addy Clift (22.2). Freshman guard Maddison Collyer leads the team in assists per game (8.4).

Opponents out-rebound the Lady Eagles by seven rebounds per game (48.5-41.5). Freshman forward Katie Mayo leads the team in rebounds per game (6.1) and is one of four players averaging four or more rebounds per game.
