Governor Raimondo has banned big rigs from all state roads
CRANSTON , R.I. — The Rhode Island State Police had responded to 95 calls for service and investigated five minor crashes as of 2 p.m. Thursday, according to a tweet from the state police Twitter account.
In addition, troopers have assisted 68 vehicles off the roadway and towed 15 vehicles since 6 a.m.
Seven tractor-trailers have jackknifed on Rhode Island highways during the storm.
That's according to Col. Ann Assumpico, superintendent of the state police, who spoke during a noontime briefing at the state's Emergency Management Agency headquarters, along with Gov. Gina M. Raimondo, video below.
The governor has ordered a ban on travel for tractor trailer trucks on state roads from noon to 9 p.m.
