Swiss regulator Bakom has published price indices for 2017 for broadband services, fixed telephony and mobile telephony. The broadband price index of a person with average usage (convenient products with download speed of 25 Mbps or more) has decreased by 21.8 percent compared with 2016. The average transmission rate of selected products is now 45 Mbps.

The price index for fixed telephony, based on data from Switzerland's biggest operators, has slightly increased for the average user, by 1.8 percent year-on-year.

The price index for mobile services, based the data from the three biggest mobile operators, has increased per average user by 6.1 percent year-on-year. The price increase varies depending on whether it is a pre-paid or post-paid segment service. For an average post-paid user, prices have increased by 11.2 percent year-on-year, while for pre-paid users it was only by 1.2 percent. The analysis took into account several resellers, too. Their performance has been compared with the indices pertaining only to the big three operators. The analysis included mobile telephony services, SMS and mobile data services.
