Business people on the move in R.I., week of Jan. 7

The Center for Women and Enterprise

Maryellen O’Mahony, of Providence, has been named director for CWE Rhode Island. She brings more than 35 years of nonprofit leadership to the position, including more than six years at Children’s Friend raising awareness, funds and volunteer opportunities to benefit needy children throughout the state.

LLB Architects

Lerner Ladds Bartels, an architecture and interior design firm in Pawtucket, has named Enno Fritsch, Meaghan Kennedy, Cara Pomeranz and Brian Valentine as associates.

Fritsch, of Providence, joined LLB in 2015 bringing with him over 13 years of experience in planning and design for institutional clients in the academic and health-care sectors. In addition to his work as project manager, he was named director of Design Communication.

Kennedy, of North Providence, joined LLB Architects in 2011. As the Director of Interior Design, Meaghan is responsible for leading and integrating the discussion of interior design throughout the design process on all the firm’s projects.

Pomeranz, of Providence, joined the firm in 2017. A registered architect in Massachusetts, she brings 10 years of experience and a strong portfolio of design and technical skills to her work. She will serve as the director-at-large for AlAri in 2018.

Valentine, of Barrington, was named director of production and tasked with developing and implementing processes that maintain the firm’s high documentation standards. He joined LLB in 2014 with more than ten years of educational and public work experience.

Toray Plastics (America)

Chris Nothnagle, of Saunderstown, has been named senior director of corporate marketing. Prior to joining Toray in 2015 as the senior director of converting development, Nothnagle was a product manager and market development manager in the film industry.

United Way of Rhode Island

Angela Bannerman Ankoma, of Providence, has joined UWRI as executive vice president and director of community investment. She previously worked at the R.I. Department of Health as co-director of the Health Equity Institute.

Mary Benvenuto, of Blackstone, Massachussetts, has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer. She had been UWRI’s controller since joining the organization in late 2015. Prior to that she oversaw financial reporting and international accounting for an IT solution provider.

University Orthopedics

Dr. Patricia Solga, of Providence, has been named senior adviser to the Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery on matters concerning diversity and education, and will transition from clinical practice to administration. Solga joined University Orthopedics and the department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1990.
