Market Now: IT stocks fall; HCL Tech, Infosys decline over 1%
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
NEW DELHI: Most of the IT stocks, including Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.73 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 1.24 per cent) and Infosys (down 1.05 per cent) were trading down in afternoon trade on Thursday, dragging the Nifty IT index down.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.63 per cent down at 11,513 around 01:35 pm (IST).

Shares of Tech Mahindra (down 0.89 per cent), Infibeam Incorporation (down 0.38 per cent), Wipro (down 0.37 per cent) and MindTree (down 0.13 per cent) were also trading in the negative zone.

Tata Elxsi (up 0.78 per cent), KPIT Technologies (up 0.35 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.13 per cent) were the three stocks in the Nifty IT index that were up around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 28 points up at 10,472, while the BSE Sensex was 104 points up at 33,897.

Shares of NHPC, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Ashok Leyland, Hindalco Industries, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation and Tata Motors were trading among the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
