Prep swimming: Findlay swimmers swamp Oak Harbor
Four Findlay High swimmers were four-event winners on Wednesday when the Trojans swept Oak Harbor in a dual meet at UF’s Sink Natatorium, the girls posting a 115-68 win over the Rockets and the boys team winning 130-49.
Jacob Gerken and Ethan Spradlin won two individual races each in the boys meet, with Gerken placing first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.93) and the 100 butterfly (59.94) and Spradlin capturing the 100 freestyle (50.74) and the 100 breaststroke ((1:07.43).
Gerken and Spradlin were also on two winning relays, teaming with Trevor Hellman and Lincoln Roth on the 200 medley relay (1:47.47). Gerken, Ben Anderson, Hellman and Bret Swanson won the 400 free relay (3:44.79) and Spradlin, Josh Kreinbrink, Roth and Zane Laws were first in the 200 free relay (1:36.17).
Kreinbrink also won both the shortest (50, 24.31) and the longest (500, 5:44.86) freestyle events.
Lucas Gerken scored 194.55 points to top teammate Timbrook Dillon in diving.
Sarah Clinger and Kaylor Stocker figured in four firsts each for Findlay’s girls.
Clinger won the 200 free (2:09.77) and the 100 breast (1:15.98), Stocker touched the wall first in the 50 free (25.66) and 100 fly (1:03.11) and both teamed with Meghan Quaid and Gabby Diehl on the first place 200 free relay (1:46.83).
Clinger, Diehl, Quaid and Drew Twining captured the 400 free relay (4:05.06) as well.
Paige Black won the 100 back (1:10.25) and joined Stocker, Katie Suermann and Lyndsay Ritzler on the winning 200 medley relay (2:06.25).
Lexie Layne’s 260.70 points topped an all-Findlay field in diving.
