NORWICH - As of 11:30 a.m., Norwich Public Utilities reported no power outages in the city, but say crews repaired a water main break, according to an update from the City of Norwich.

Norwich Public Utilities responded Thursday morning to repair a broken water main they say disrupted service for approximately 120 customers in the East Great Plains section of Norwich.

As of 11:30 a.m., NPU said there were no power outages in Norwich and that crews remain prepared to respond to any issues.

Officials encourage the public to stay off the roads today whenever possible and the parking ban which went into effect at midnight remains in place. Parking is permitted only on the odd side of city streets unless otherwise posted, officials said.

South Eastern Area Transit bus service was suspended temporarily this morning at 10 a.m. and service will resume when weather conditions improve, the release said.
