President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will attend the college football national championship game between the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama on Monday, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on Wednesday.

Nick Ayers, Pence's chief of staff, is also slated to attend the game, which will take place in Ayers' native Atlanta.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders had congratulated both teams for their respective victories at the start of the White House briefing on Tuesday.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Trump's plans to attend the game.
