Freeport man accused of DUI, cocaine possession

FREEPORT — A 32-year-old Freeport man is accused of driving recklessly and having cocaine in his car.

Ernest Lacy, of the 700 block of West Elk Street, was pulled over near Homer Street and West Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday after police allegedly saw him driving erratically. He was initially arrested for driving with a suspended license and DUI, Freeport Deputy Chief Matt Summers said.

Further investigation found Lacy allegedly in possession of about .7 grams of cocaine. He is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
