Who's the best?
The first domino fell in late December, when Wyoming's Josh Allen declared for the NFL Draft.
Now, two more. Wednesday night, USC's Sam Darnold and UCLA's Josh Rosen announced they're headed to the NFL. Darnold released a video on his Instagram, and Rosen a statement on Twitter. The two, most certainly, will be top-five picks.
It won't be long before others declare, too. Notably Lamar Jackson (Louisville). So as draft season kicks into high gear, who figures to be the top quarterback available?
Here's the latest college quarterback power rankings.
No. 13: Nick Fitzgerald (Mississippi State)
2017 STATS: 1,782 yards | 15 TDs | 11 INT | 55.6 completion percentage | 984 rushing yards | 14 rushing TDs
THE BREAKDOWN: Fitzgerald won't be a top pick. Some will be scared off by his low completion percentage in this year. But he's a big, physical quarterback (6-5, 230 pounds) who could be a mid-round pick.
No. 12: Jarrett Stidham (Auburn)
2017 STATS: 2,827 yards | 17 TDs | 4 INTs | 66.7 % | 178 rushing yards | 4 rushing TDs
THE BREAKDOWN: Stidham could move up some draft boards with an impressive showing at the NFL Combine and his Pro Day. He's got a lot of tools, and made legitimate strides this year. He could benefit, and improve his stock, if he decides to return to Auburn next year.
