Celtic EXCLUSIVE: Liam Henderson wanted by Swedish side Ostersunds

SWEDISH side Ostersunds want to sign forgotten Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson.

Liam Henderson has been the forgotten man at Celtic

The 21-year-old is well known to former Hamilton boss Billy Reid, who is assistant manager to Graham Potter at Ostersunds.

The club are preparing for one of the biggest fixtures in their history – next month’s Europa League last-32 clash with Arsenal.

Serie B outfit Bari, Hibs and Preston North End have  also expressed an interest in signing Henderson, who has played just once this season for Celtic, where his contract expires in the summer.

The former Scotland Under-21 international has had successful loans spells with Norwegian side Rosenborg in 2015 and Hibs, helping them win the 2016 Scottish Cup.

Celtic have already signed defender Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig, while St Mirren winger Lewis Morgan is expected to be unveiled today.

The 21-year-old will return to the Buddies on loan until the summer as part of the £300,000 deal.

Moussa Dembele remains the subject of strong English Premier League interest, where Brighton head the queue.

Several Celtic fringe players will leave before the end of this month.

Erik Sviatchenko has been told to find a new club by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Right-back Cristian Gamboa could be looking for a switch of his own from Celtic to protect his place in the Costa Rica set-up for the finals in Russia.

Kundai Benyu is set to join League One strugglers Oldham Athletic on loan for the rest of the season.

Eboue Kouassi is another midfielder that Rodgers is keen to farm out on a temporary arrangement.

The Ivorian has struggled for fitness and game time since his £3million move from Russian side Krasnodar last January.

Celtic, meanwhile, have signed Australian winger Leo Mazis, 17, on a three-year contract from Belconnen United.
