Weather snow

SIOUX CITY | The areas around Sheldon, Cherokee, Storm Lake and Spencer are looking at a dusting of snow throughout Thursday afternoon.

Brad Temeyer, a meterologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, said those areas "could see up to an inch" of snow.

"Sioux City itself probably isn't going to see much," Temeyer said.

High temperatures in Siouxland Thursday will be around 9 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies that will hang around into the night.

The temperature won't drop significantly Thursday night, with a low of around 2 degrees into Friday morning.

"That's just because those clouds are just going to hang around throughout the night, keeping us warmer," Temeyer said.

Friday will be partly cloudy, with a high temperature around 11 degrees. The low Friday night will be around -4 degrees.

After a cold week, there will be a warm-up over the weekend. Saturday's high temperatures will be around 20 degrees, with a low Saturday night of 16 degrees.

Sunday's high will be -- drum roll -- above freezing, with a high of 35 degrees.

"Those warm temperatures are going to stick around through early next week," Temeyer said.
