Mangaluru, Jan 4: In a bid to protect Hindu girls from what they called ‘Love Jihad’, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal on Wednesday issued a set of ‘moral codes’. These moral codes ask Hindu girls not to have any kind of relationship with Muslims, Christians and other non-Hindu men. The guidelines were issued during a fortnight ‘awareness campaign’ launched in Mangaluru, reports The New Indian Express.
The ‘moral codes’ ask Hindu girls not to share personal information or upload pictures on social networking sites like Whatsapp and Facebook. The Hindu girls were asked to beware of friend requests sent by persons in the name of Hindus and seek help from pro-Hindu outfits in times of crisis. The ‘moral codes’ issued by VHP and Bajrang Dal have lots of Do’s and Dont’s for parents as well.
Hindu parents of girl child were asked to keep a track of friends of their wards and keep an eye on persons with whom children interact every day. The guidelines asked Hindu parents to keep an eye on children spending much time on social networking sites; check when daughters come home late on the pretext of studying at friend’s place and check if daughters lock themselves up in rooms and talk on mobile phones.
The ‘moral codes’ were issued to reintroduce ‘culture’ among Hindu youth, especially girls in schools and colleges, and working women as they are more vulnerable, VHP leader M B Puranik said. Meanwhile, a Facebook post also surfaced on Wednesday, warning Hindu girls of dire consequences if they are found with non-Hindu men. A Facebook page titled ‘Veera Kesari’ said there will be no more counselling and warning and slapping is the only way.
