Chelsea and Arsenal TROLLED by UEFA following 2-2 Premier League draw

CHELSEA and Arsenal played out an entertaining draw at the Emirates last night with Hector Bellerin’s injury-time equaliser securing a point for the Gunners.

Chelsea and Arsenal were trolled by UEFA following their 2-2 Premier League draw

The result did little to boost either side’s chances of closing the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City - not that UEFA would let them forget it.

European football’s governing body might not have meant to troll the London rivals, but their tweets in the wake of the result were not the best thought out.

UEFA’s official Champions League account posted: "Chelsea conceded a late equaliser at Arsenal in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

"The Blues are 16 points behind leaders Manchester City."

And that was followed up by a tweet from the official Europa League account which read: "UEL round of 32 hopefuls Arsenal are sixth, 23 points from City."

UEFA’s decision to highlight just how far Chelsea and Arsenal are behind Pep Guardiola’s runaway leaders City didn’t go down to well with some fans.

One Chelsea supporter replied: "Why highlight that we’re 16 points behind though?"

"They had to put the last sentence," said another.

A third responded angrily: "Arsenal have given the Europa League a career. Without us, you're nothing."

Other fans found the decision to highlight Chelsea and Arsenal’s deficit comical though.

"Admin deserves a raise, this is top class banter," wrote one.

Chelsea and Arsenal will get the chance to close their gaps to City when they return to Premier League action against Leicester and Bournemouth next weekend.
