Donald (Don) John TrumpTrump files paperwork to transfer businesses MORE ripped former White House Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon on Wednesday after a leaked excerpt from an upcoming book quoted Bannon as calling Trump Jr.'s infamous Trump Tower meeting "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."
In a tweet, Trump Jr. wrote that Bannon is "not a strategist, he is an opportunist."
"Steve had the honor of working in the White House & serving the country," Trump Jr. said. "Unfortunately, he squandered that privilege & turned that opportunity into a nightmare of backstabbing, harassing, leaking, lying & undermining the President."

The White House declared war on Bannon Wednesday over quotes made in a forthcoming book by Michael Wolff detailing the inner workings of the first days of the Trump administration.
In the book, Bannon claimed that there is "zero" chance that then-candidate Trump was not informed about his son's meeting with a Russian lawyer who promised "dirt" on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately," Bannon said in the book.
