Leeds United Transfer News Tracker: The complete list of January targets

A deal worth an initial £500,000 for Japan international midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi has already been agreed.

He will officially become a Leeds player on January 1 but work permit regulations mean a loan spell with partner club Cultural Leonesa is likely until the end of the season. 

Leeds are finely poised to push for promotion but director Angus Kinnear has indicated the club will not make that many signings next month.

He said: “The ability of the squad to cope so admirably with a number of injuries and the undeniable quality that has been shown by players taking their chance in the first team, either for the first time or in a different role, mean that our playing solutions for the rest of the season are more likely to come from inside than outside the existing squad.

“The January window will attract the usual media hysteria but it is notoriously difficult to navigate and secure both quality and value. 

“If any business is done at Leeds United it will be focused, considered and founded on the meticulous analysis of Victor Orta and his team.”

Reports in Portugal suggested Leeds have held talks with Sporting Lisbon for the 23-year-old central defender.

But Express Sport understands an approach has not been made for his signature.

Thomas Christiansen is interested in securing a permanent deal for the Everton loanee. 

Leeds have held talks with the Toffees but it could be until the end of the season that a deal is struck. 

Aapo Halme

A £500,000 deal has been agreed with HJK Helsinki for 19-year-old defender Aapo Halme.

He has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Leeds. 

Josh Vela

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds are among a number of clubs chasing the Bolton midfielder.

Brighton, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are all reportedly interested. 

Jack Colback

According to the Daily Mirror, Leeds are battling Birmingham for the Newcastle outcast. 

Colback has been banished from Rafa Benitez’s first team but a return to former club Sunderland has been mooted.

Reports in Spain earlier this month suggested Leeds are set to launch a £5.2million bid (€6m) for the Real Betis midfielder.

Football Insider claim Leeds have held talks with representatives of Heracles winger Brandley Kuwas.

The Daily Mirror claim Leeds are in a battle with Middlesbrough and Fulham for Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, who could end his loan spell with Freiburg early. 

Adam Clayton

Accoring to BetVictor, Leeds are joint-favourites with Sheffield United to sign the Middlesbrough midfielder. 

Marcus Maddison

According to ClubCall, Leeds are back in for Peterborough winger Marcus Maddison.

Elland Road chiefs attempted to sign Maddison earlier this year but former owner Massimo Cellino was blamed for the deal collapsing. 

Ben Woodburn

The Liverpool starlet has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds for the rest of the season.

Jurgen Klopp has indicated the 18-year-old could be heading out on loan but Sunderland are also keen.
