X Factor's Sam Bailey in hospital dash after ladder accident

SAM Bailey has been rushed to hospital.

The singer – who won The in 2013 – revealed pictures of the incident on social media.

Sam had been attempting to get a suitcase from the loft when a ladder fell on her and knocked her out.

The 40-year-old was left concussed and taken by ambulance from her home in Leicester Forest East on Tuesday morning.

The mum-of-three was then unable to perform as the Enchantress in Beauty and the Beast at De Montfort Hall in Leicester that night.

A spokesperson for Sam at Champions UK PLC said Sam had been knocked out when the loft ladder sprang back and hit her on the head.

They told The Sun: "The ladders sprang back and hit her and she was knocked out cold.

"Her husband Craig was there and called the ambulance but Sam was on the floor for about an hour."

The ITV star was checked over at Leicester Royal Infirmary and allowed to return home later the day.

Since the accident, she's taken to the official Sam Bailey Twitter account to share pictures of herself on a stretcher with a neck brace on.

The former prison officer also posted a picture of herself relaxing at home in pyjamas cuddling her dogs.

She wrote to her 379,000 followers: "I'm on the mend people!"

The songstress also thanked all the nursing staff who helped look after her, telling her followers: "Thank you to all the staff and ambulance crew at Leicester Royal Infirmary after a scary night I have to say I'm so proud of our NHS staff for all they do!!!"

RECOVERING AT HOME: The singer told fans she's on the mend

Sam asked the Leicester Mercry to send a message to her fans, saying: "Thank you so much to everyone who has asked about me on social media.

"I am on the mend and resting up at home. I'm gutted to be missing panto and I hope to be back as soon as possible!"

Her rep told how she'd been advised to rest for at least two days before making any decisions about returning to the panto.
