Inaugural Miri City Mayor Awards in May

MIRI: The inaugural Miri City Mayor Awards (MCMA) will be presented this year in conjunction with the Miri May Fest 2018 to honour individuals and organisations who have contributed to the environment, tourism promotion, and the safety and security of Miri City.

Miri City Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang said two of the four awards would be for selected individuals and groups of people not aligned to any NGO, association or organisation who are voluntarily dedicated to community as well as social projects.

"The other two are for organisations/associations/NGOs and companies/private sector," he said at a news conference at the Miri City Council (MCC) today.

Yii said the recipients of the awards would be chosen based on their contribution to the environment, tourism promotion, and the safety and security of Miri City.

"Nomination forms can be obtained from www.miriapp.com, the MCC official website www.miricouncil.gov.my and MMC public relations section on the ground floor of the main building at Jalan Raja.

The closing date for nomination is March 31, 2018," he said. – Bernama
