FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a large fire in Ringwood last night.

The blaze broke out at about 5pm in an outbuilding and pictures show huge flames and smoke billowing into the sky.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "An 80-year-old man was found to be suffering from smoke inhalation and South Central Ambulance Service attended.

"A dog was rescued and given oxygen by HFRS.

"Two hose reels, a jet, and two sets of breathing apparatus were used."

Resident Craig Keith wrote on social media: "Excellent and quick response as always from Hampshire Fire and Rescue."
