Snow closings and cancellations in Delaware for Thursday, Jan. 4.

STATEWIDE

State offices closed - State of Delaware offices are closed in all three counties Thursday, Jan. 4 during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Non-essential employees are not to report to work for this period. Essential employees are to report as scheduled. Non-essential employees whose shift includes hours after 4:30 p.m. should check for updates throughout the day. http://de.gov/closings

NEW CASTLE COUNTY

County offices closed - New Castle County government offices and facilities will be closed today. New Castle County facilities staff will be clearing snow throughout the day in preparation for county offices and facilities to reopen tomorrow.

Schools - Many school districts have announced delays or closings. For a complete list, check your school's website or https://schoolclosings.delaware.gov/

City of Newark offices closed - The City of Newark declared a snow emergency in effect until 6 p.m., and announced city offices will be closed today. Non-emergency essential personnel should not report. Emergency essential personnel are to report as required or scheduled.

Bayhealth's Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Service Centers throughout New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties will be closed today.

Bus delays - DART bus service and paratransit service in New Castle County are operating with delays. As the storm progresses, check DartFirstState.com for updates.

SEPTA operating - SEPTA's Wilmington/Newark line is operating with regular service.

Blood Bank open - The Blood Bank of Delmarva centers are still open in Christiana and Concord with normal hours until further notice; however, the center in Dover is closed.

KENT COUNTY

County offices closed - All Kent County government offices are closed today, but essential employees are to report at assigned times.

Town of Smyrna offices opening late - Town of Smyrna offices will be opening at 10 a.m. today, according to the town website.

Bayhealth hospitals and ER open, but some doctors' offices and labs closed - Bayhealth continues under normal operations at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Milford Memorial Hospital and Bayhealth Emergency Center in Smyrna. Outpatient centers in Bayhealth Hospital in Dover and Milford Memorial Hospital are open for diagnostic and laboratory services today

As a precaution, Bayhealth announces the following closings for Thursday, Jan. 4:

Bayhealth's Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Service Centers throughout New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties will be closed today.

Bayhealth Medical Group physician offices are closed today.

Bayhealth Wound Care is closed today.

Bayhealth Outpatient Rehabilitation Services will be closed.

Bayhealth Sleep Care Centers will be closed.

Bayhealth Cancer Centers at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover and Milford Memorial Hospital will be closed.

All Bayhealth community education classes, support groups and screenings are canceled for today.

Blood Bank closed - The Blood Bank of Delmarva's Dover donor center is closed; however, the centers in Christiana and Concord are open with normal hours until further notice.

SUSSEX COUNTY

Driving warning - Gov. John Carney has issued a Level 1 Driving Warning for Sussex County for Thursday, Jan. 4. Driving is not banned, but drivers are encouraged not to operate a vehicle unless there is a significant safety, health or business reason to do so.

No bus service - DART won't operate regular bus services or paratransit in Sussex County.
