Virgin Media DOWN - Broadband not working for hundreds of users across the UK
VIRGIN MEDIA broadband is down right now for hundreds of users with many reporting issues getting online this morning.

9.10AM UPDATE: Virgin says the issues that were affecting customers this morning have now been fixed.
A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We were aware of an issue affecting broadband services for some of our customers in Nottingham, Grimsby and Lincoln which has now been resolved. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
Original story: Virgin Media broadband appears to be down right now with the popular UK internet supplier not working for hundreds of users across the UK.
Hundreds of customers have reported issues with the service with many suffering from the outage since around 7am this morning.
Independent website Down Detector has received hundreds of reports that Virgin Media is down today.
The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world.
The Down Detector outage map shows huge parts of the UK including London, Birmingham and Bath are being hit by the problems.
Users have taken to social networking sites today to voice their frustration at the outage.
One user tweeted: “Yet again Virgin is down, becoming a more and more regular occurrence now isn’t it! This is ridiculous”
While another posted: “After holding for 40mins the agent said that they were told that Virgin internet could be down for 24 hours over a very wide area.”

Although not confirmed, one user has suggested that Virgin Media are having issues with their DNS server.
In post on Down Detector it’s been suggested that if users change their DNS to point to 8.8.8.8 they will be back online.
The outage comes just weeks after Virgin Media users were hit by major price increase with costs going up before the end of 2018.
It's thought around five million Virgin subscribers are being hit by the increase which is set to boost bills by around five per cent.
Virgin says prices for the majority of customers have increased by between £1.99 and £3.99 per month.
The new changes took effect from November 2017, although some customers will saw changes to their bills from October 2017.
Virgin will be writing to customers in the coming months to explain the increase in their bills which they say is to help improve the service.
