(MENAFN) Uber Technologies Inc has been sued by a British mobile advertising agency to force it into paying millions of dollars of bills that Uber had refused to pay after claiming that ads being generated were faked.
Fetch Media Ltd filed its lawsuit in the same California federal court where Uber had sued it, accusing the agency of billing it for unreal, fake ads, and failing to pass back refunds and commissions, and dismissing it later on voluntarily.
Fetch believes Uber dismissed its federal case on concern it might lose after it was assigned to US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who has supervised other lawsuits concerning the ride-hailing firm.
Fetch requested Rogers be assigned to determine both companies' contractual responsibilities, and order Uber pay over 19.7m USD of invoices still owed for last year, and said: "Fetch does not believe that Uber can avoid federal-court scrutiny of its incorrect contract theories so easily."
