London Underground commuters face travel chaos with severe delays
RUSH hour commuters faced travel misery on the London Underground as the Central Line was hit with severe delays.
GETTY
A faulty train and a signal failure held up passengers between Epping/Hainault and Liverpool Street travelling westbound.
Delays also occurred westbound between Liverpool Street and West Ruislip/Ealing Broadway trains westbound.
Some commuters claim they been stranded onboard for up to 40 minutes.
Sam Johnson wrote on Twitter: “Are you able to provide any decent response? Been stuck on a train for 40 mins and moved one stop.”
How could you do this EVERY DAY? The hell of the London Underground at rush hour

@centralline just heading past the cemetery before Leyton. Is there any point in carrying on? Taking a lifetime to go one stop

Brilliant start to the new year. No @centralline trains going east and @GWRHelp trains cancelled or rammed with no space for more passengers. í ˝íąí źíżź #trainmisery

Another user called Panda T. Bear posted: “Ugh, it just took me half an hour for me to go one stop on the central line.”
Adam Stolerman added: “Another year, another disgraceful service from @centralline.”
Another commuter said their train stopped at five red signals over just two stops.
The Central Line is now operating a good service.
