Pakistan releases video of Kulbhushan Jadhav 'statement' on mother's visit

NEW DELHI: Pakistan has released another video featuring Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav+ , in which he's heard saying that he saw an Indian diplomat "yelling" at his mother and his wife during their Christmas day visit with him in Islamabad, reported Dawn.


"Why were Indian diplomats yelling at my mother after her meeting with me?" he is seen asking in the video. "During the meeting, it looked like my mother had been beaten and brought here on a plane," he's further heard saying.

The Indian diplomat who accompanied Jadhav's mother and his wife on the visit+ was Indian deputy high commissioner to Pakistan JP Singh.

Jadhav, who's on death row in Pakistan for alleged espionage, is further heard saying he "saw fear" in his mother's eyes. He's then heard asking India why it is lying about him not working for an intelligence agency, as Pakistan alleges.

"I want to tell India that I am a commissioned officer in the Indian Navy. Why are you lying about my working for an intelligence agency?" is what Jadhav is heard saying in the video.

Pakistan alleges that Jadhav was working for Indian intelligence organisation Research and Analysis Wing when he was arrested allegedly in Balochistan. India asserts that Jadhav was working in a private capacity in Iran when Pakistani operatives abducted him.



Jadhav is further heard saying in the video that his mother was "very happy" to see him and was "in a good state".

"She said, 'I'm feeling very relaxed after seeing you'," he is heard saying in the video. He also claims in the video that he had "not been subjected to any sort of torture in Pakistan".

Jadhav met his wife and his mother on December 25, in a visit that became highly controversial, because Pakistan intimidated and harassed the two women. Pakistani officials asked them to remove their bangles, bindi and mangalsutra and even confiscated his wife's footwear.
